VINTAGE FINDS: COACH Duffle Bag 9166

Question: if someone would suddenly rush up to you to ask you: ‘<insert name>, what are you actually good at in life?’. What would you answer?

I’ve thought about it. And for me, one of the things that I’m actually very, very good at - and it’s unfortunately not something to be proud of - is… procrastinating. Some examples. Procrastination on studying for an important test, which makes me have to set my alarm at 2AM to study all night long (in order to save myself from total failure). Procrastination on leaving my house, which makes me running late everywhere I go. And procrastination on buying a descent leather bag, which made me walk around for almost 4 years (!) with canvas bags like a hobo.

About that last one. Some people might see buying a bag as a moment of joy. I do not. Buying a bag - or actually the preceding never-ending search for that bag - is horror with a big H. Because you’ll wear the bag practically every day, it has to suit you perfectly. The color, the model, the quality, the amount of space - everything matters. And finding that perfect bag my friends, is a hell of a job. So the procrastination begins.

Fortunately, once upon a time there was a brand named COACH, who decided to make a few duffle bags back in the 80s. And fortunately, an American woman had bought one of those bags but decided in the summer of 2016 that she should sell it on eBay because she had never worn it. And fortunately, I looked coincidentally on eBay and it was love at first sight. And from that moment, we decided to spend the rest of our lives together. No more canvas bags for me. End of story.

NEW IN: The Perfect Summer Sandals

Summer sandals. They never go out of style. We all know that our plastic flip-flops aren't always the answer during summer. But hey, sandals are! They're still as comfy and breathable as your plastic footwear, but way more stylish and chic! In other words: a real summer essential! However, finding a pair of cute sandals is easier said than done. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. There are so many different types of sandals - and apart from finding one that is really to your liking, it's very important that the shoes fit the shape of your feet perfectly. For example: avoid at all times the too-narrow-sandals-for-too-wide-feet look. I’m serious, you don’t want that.
So that's the reason why I found myself only a few weeks ago - quite unexpectedly - the perfect summer sandals. I was just looking on Pinterest - doing nothing special, probably bored - when I saw them passing by. My heart skipped a beat. The sandals looked like they were literally made for me. The leather straps in the perfect color, the white platforms that makes me look a bit taller and the golden details which don't curse my jewelry.

I found out that the sandals were from the Polish shoe brand Venezia. Never had I thought that I would find the perfect sandals all the way in Poland, but good things come from unexpected places. When I ordered them, I wasn't exactly sure about my size. I decided eventually that I'd take a size smaller than I usually do. They arrived shortly afterwards and - hell yes - they fitted!

You can't find love, love finds you is what they say, right? ;)

FROM FABRIC TO FASHION: Shearling Coat

Hi babes! Today’s article is about my most recent purchase and the story behind it. I thought it would be nice to share it with you guys since it was a fun experiment. Enjoy reading!

When the summery weather was getting ready to leave, saying goodbye to the people in Holland and wasn’t planning on coming back for a whole year, I decided that it was time to make my wardrobe autumn/winter-proof. Starting off with a new coat! I’ve literally worn out the coat that I wore last year around this time. So it was time for some shopping! And let that be exactly the one thing I like to do most J

NEW IN: Dogeared Hamsa Necklace

Dearest readers, for today’s post I wanted to tell you guys about a recent discovery of mine in the area of jewelry. Because I’m very excited about this, I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys. I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on this article. Have fun reading!

For a while I was looking for a minimalistic, gold necklace with a small pendant that you can wear at all times. After a look on the Internet I came across the brand Dogeared, which I liked immediately. This American jewelry brand focuses on making jewelry that is both beautiful and meaningful. After I went to the official Dogeared webshop, my eye fell on a small gold necklace with a hamsa hand pendant. It was love at first sight!

The necklace didn’t take too long to arrive and within a week it hung there, shining around my neck. I’m very happy with it! I totally agree with the quote less is more. Big stones around my neck doesn’t work for me; I rather have a simple, timeless necklace that I can wear with everything. Because the jewel is gold-dipped and therefore water resistant, I literally wear it at all times. For that matter, the reason why I’ve chosen the hamsa pendant has nothing to do with my religious conviction. I just think it’s a very beautiful pendant J

I’m very enthusiastic about this brand! They have beautiful timeless pieces of good quality. Also, each jewel has its own inspirational quote, which in my opinion is a lovely detail.

So in short: I’m over the moon with my new necklace!

What’s your taste when it comes to jewelry? Go big or go home or less is more?

Love,
Roos

NEW IN: Vagabond Modesto Boots

Happy new year everyone! I know I’m probably a bit late, but I thought better late than never.
Did you have a nice New Year’s Eve? Mine wasn’t very spectacular; I was with my family a couple days on holiday in Southern Germany to ski. When the clock struck twelve times, we watched the fireworks on the mountains, lit some sparklers off and didn’t stay up late because we had to get up early the next morning to ski. It’s weird to stand at 10:00 am on the mountains and realize that there is a whole new year ahead of us. I wish you all the best for 2015 and I hope it will be a fantastic year!

This article is dedicated to my first purchase of 2015. As you know, during December and January sale is on full swing, and I took advance of that. I thought it would be nice to share my purchase with you guys and give a review of the webshop Vagabond where I ordered it. Enjoy!

When it started to get colder in Holland I thought it was time to search for leather boots. These kind of shoes were missing in my closet and I wanted to change that. I had low cowboy boots with a squared toe in mind, and by coincidence I’ve found the perfect ones.
I saw that a blogger who I follow had posted a picture on Instagram with exactly the shoes I was looking for. The shoes are from the brand Vagabond and called “Modesto”. When I looked them up, I saw to my delight that they were marked down 50%, from 140,- to 70. In my view a bargain, ‘cause the boots are made of real leather and I probably still wearing them in a few years. I doubted a while between the black ones and the taupe colored ones, but eventually I chose the black ones because I can combine them better. Also the quality of the shoes are amazing. So all in all, a timeless purchase which I’m going to enjoy for a long time.

The webshop where I’ve ordered my boots is vagabond.com. It’s a Swedish brand and I’m very pleased with my experience with this shop. First of all: the delivery time takes not to long. I ordered the shoes on Sunday and Wednesday they’ve been delivered. They were packed up in a shoebox that was inside a bigger box for extra protection. The delivery costs contains 6,-. Because I had doubts if I should order size 4 or 5, it was nice to know that you can return your purchase for free.
The only downside of this shop is in my opinion the payment method. You can only pay with a credit card and since I don’t have one, that’s not so handy. More options (like PayPal) would be nicer.
But apart from that, it’s a fine webshop and I would recommend it.

What is your first purchase of 2015?

Love,
Roos

New | Vintage Calvin Klein Overall

Hi y'all! You have not heard anything from me for a while. Sorry for that! But I've been so busy lately with school and stuff... Tomorrow is my testweek finally over and that means summer vacation! Then I'll try to write more often, because I love doing that :)
You've probably seen or read somewhere that the denim overall is back in the fashionworld again. And I love it! A overall is so comfortable but still fashionable. I haven't had one two weeks ago so I went searching (online and in real stores) for a nice one. I don't like denim with many bleached details on it but unfortunately I saw a lot of this kind of overalls. After a while searching online I came across this outfit from London's Closet and it was exactly the overall that I had in mind.

She worn a Vintage Calvin Klein Overall and after a while I found a seller on Ebay who sold this overall in size s and m. I wasn't sure about the size (because I wanted it a bit oversized but not too much) so I decided after some hesitation to buy them both and sell the one that I'd not fit. I'm really happy with the overalls and I think that they're both really nice (they have about the same color) but s fits me better.
Speckled Knit for London's Closet
So now I've one left. If you are interested in a Vintage Calvin Klein Overall size m click here, here, here or send an email to rooskoks@hotmail.com. I'd like it if I can make someone else happy with it :)

Do you have an overall yet? Leave a comment below! I'll read all of them and visit your blog (if you have one) ASAP!

New | ZeroUV Retro Sunglasses

Yeah, we're heading closer to the summer! This month starts off very very good, because my retro sunglasses have finally arrived!
2947 Tortoise - 9174 Silver Smoke - 8637 Tortoise Amber

8765 Black - 8785 Tortoise - 2947 Black

I've ordered them from a webshop called ZeroUV (link). This shop sells literally every model of sunglasses that you can imagine. And they are pretty cheap. Just about every glasses is under €10,-.
The only drawback is that the shipping time takes quite a long time. I've ordered them on March 10th and received them yesterday. But it was worth the wait because they are so nice!

Which sunglasses will you wear this summer? Leave a comment below.

New | Chelsea Boots

30,00 at New Look

In my penultimate blog post (link) I told you how excited I am about Chelsea Boots. And now they are finally mine! These shoes are from New Look and I bought them at Asos (link). It took about a month before I could order them 'cause they were sold out. Eventually, I ordered them in size 39 (UK 6 - US 9), although I have size 38, but I just couldn't wait any longer. And with a sole and a pair of thick socks it's absolutely doable. The shoes have a heel of 8 cm. Yet they walk equally nice as sneakers. In short: I love them.

What are your thoughts about Chelsea boots?

New | Dotted Overall

19,99 at H&M

I'm so happy with this garment! Overalls are a musthave this season. Because I am quite short, I think that overalls with long legs don't fits me well. Luckely I saw this hang at H&M and to my delight it was a short at the bottom. Besides, in Holland is it such a nice weather lately that a short overall - I don't know exactly how you call it - comes in handy. The polka dots gives the garment a cute tough.
I put a black top underneath because of the open back. I like to combine it with a short black blazer (a white one looks good as well). To give this outfit a slightly tougher look I wear it with my black creepers. You're ready to go.

How should you combine this overall?
